Many new luxury car comes with a built-in camera in reverse order. The camera shows the driver a view of the rear of the vehicle in tight spaces, reverse much easier, and showed that the obstacles may not be visible in the mirrors. Backup Camera Kits are now available for vehicles not using a rear view camera is not standard. This guide will help you to some of the available options and how they are mounted on your car, van or truck can be.
Reversing cameras in all shapes and sizes – choose which one depends on your vehicle and your personal preferences, but ideally they should be as inconspicuous as possible and give a clear picture behind you.
Mount the camera back
The best location for your camera is very low and in the middle of the back of the vehicle. The center of the rear bumper is ideal. You may be lucky and find that it is developing a replacement camera specifically for your vehicle – it is usually easy mounting plate or tail light cluster to replace, and enter a large factory “equipped” look.
Universal cameras are designed, in plastic or metal housing, will be embedded or attached to a suitable anchorage point. The best work done more integrated look, and are less susceptible to damage, but a hole big enough, somewhere! The outside mounted cameras are screwed or can even be set to high-strength adhesive pads or other means, so they are removable.
Some devices come with fire, because they are usually bright LED and low power consumption. They are great if they built things in dark areas or in your rear lamp park are poor.
The camera
Backup cameras need power. The current is either from a separate cable box with the camera, or a cable that will feed directly into the camera itself. In both cases, the best place for them is the power supply is 12V for the reversing light. So when you engage reverse, the light and power rear view camera at the same time – easy!
If the camera has a rear light unit was replaced, you may have the power to the rear light again, as well, so that the light will light accordingly. For example, when it replaced a number plate light where it needs to have power when the lights are on dipped or main.
Choose your screen
If you have already sat-nav screen or built in-car entertainment, you can input an alternative, you can connect the device. Even if you do not, it may be possible to use additional wiring to allow more entries.
If you do not exist as a screen does not, reversing camera kits are available with an add-on LCD screen can be mounted on the dashboard. Add the screen will usually need to be able to be taken all 12V – Radio ports are often good for this.
Log screen
For the camera image on the screen next to the driver, either a wired or wireless system.
Cable systems are simple – a cable from the camera running on the screen. Wireless cameras have a transmitter built connected to the camera (usually either on a separate box), and a receiver for the screen. The cables can be operated under the carpet or rubber inside the base and are better managed in the vehicle, if possible, because it protects against damage. Failure to have a new hole drilled to accept the cable mounted to ensure a rubber seal, is to protect the cable. If the hole metal, paint the exposed metal to prevent corrosion.
Tips on selecting a backup camera system
* If you take your existing screen only PAL or NTSC ensure that the camera output in an appropriate format. Better performance for cameras again in two formats compatibility.
* Wide-angle cameras offer a wider viewing angle and are more useful in general. 120 degrees or more is a decent, but smaller angles are always useful when centrally mounted.
* The unit must have more LED lighting to support the night vision mode, or both to the parking lot at night.
* A mirror-imaging mode (where the image appears as a mirror image) is usually easier, reverse, because it shows the same thing that you would see in a mirror.
* Make sure the camera is waterproof – it is better to use a model specially designed for vehicles rather than a compact camera designed for general use because they are waterproof and shockproof to use.
* AutoBulbs HIDs4U direct or reversing camera kits for your vehicle.
